Bloomington, IL - After an impressive and dedicated career spanning almost 34 years, Jeff Malcom has announced his retirement from IAA Credit Union (IAACU), effective January 3, 2025. Jeff has played a pivotal role in the credit union's growth and success, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, commitment, and member-focused service.
Jeff began his journey with IAA Credit Union on August 21, 1991, as a Consumer Loan Officer. His passion for lending and customer relationships led to a promotion in November 1998 to Mortgage Loan Officer. After nine years of working closely with members to meet their lending needs, Jeff transitioned into management in April 2000, stepping into the role of Member Services Supervisor.
In February 2023, Jeff took on his current position as Vice President of Banking Operations, where he oversaw critical aspects of the credit union's daily operations. Throughout his career, Jeff’s focus has always been on building strong relationships with both members and colleagues. “What I’ll miss most is the personal contact with our members and the incredible team I’ve been fortunate enough to manage,” he shared. “It's been a privilege to assist in the growth of such a talented group.”
Reflecting on his nearly 34 years of service, Jeff witnessed IAA Credit Union's significant growth and evolution, taking pride in being part of an organization that always prioritized member satisfaction and community support. “Leading by example has always been my guiding principle, and I'm confident the team will continue to thrive as I pass the torch,” Jeff said.
As a key figure in the local financial community, Jeff also served as Chair of the McLean County Financial Institution Security Association (FISA) for the last six years, helping to enhance security measures and collaboration among area financial institutions.
Upon retiring, Jeff looks forward to spending more time outdoors and enjoying the hobbies and passions that he has long cherished. He and his wife, Janet, reside in Washington, Illinois, with their children and grandchildren nearby in Eureka and Normal.
As Jeff steps into this next chapter, he carries with him the deep appreciation of his colleagues and members for his years of service, leadership, and dedication. The IAA Credit Union team plans to honor Jeff’s remarkable career with a retirement reception, details of which will be announced soon.
